What to Prepare for Auditions
Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song that demonstrates your vocal abilities. This song should fit into the pop/rock genre and be similar to the style of music sung by the character for which you are interested in being considered. Be sure to demonstrate your acting abilities through your preparation and the performance of your audition piece. Know who your character is singing to, and what they want. Sheet music is preferred. Accompanist provided. Ages listed are based on history and/or author recommendations, and should not be taken literally. Please bring your sheet music with you and be prepared to sing with piano accompaniment.

Please read below and be prepared to sing the Next to Normal song selections listed with the characters you may be considered for at auditions. We will continue with readings from the script as well as listen to you sing harmony with one another. Coming April 2017
Next to Normal is a deeply moving, Pulitzer Prize winning piece of theatre; it is an emotional powerhouse that illuminates the comical and gut wrenching truth of what it means to be a family amidst love, loss and disorder. The show provides a wonderful opportunity for performers to explore dramatic material and showcase vocal talents with an energetic pop/rock score.

Dad is an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal. Next to Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family's story with love, sympathy and heart.
